Also explained: the opening scene of American Gods
Since the premiere of American Gods, some of us have been going on and on about how we don't understand half of what is happening on American Gods. Are the opening scenes random or do they somehow tie into the bigger picture? Turns out that they aren't random and if you occasionally visit American Gods' Youtube page, you would know that.
The seemingly random scenes are meant to reveal that when people migrate to the United States, they bring their gods with them. This simple explanation makes a lot of things clearer when you go back and watch.
It gets better. An account on Twitter dedicated to TV shows took time out to give a spoiler free expose on who the characters truly are (their god names and backgrounds) and we feel like we hit jackpot.
