A peep into the Wild Hunt.

This episode gave a look at where the forgotten ended up. They all end up at a train station where everyone but Stiles is content to do nothing other than sit and wait patiently for their train. This otherwise immobile crowd only scamper when the Ghost Riders arrive with new victims.

In a creepy train station filled with unknown faces, Stiles is both relieved - and shocked when he comes eye to eye with Peter - who saved him from getting trampled by supernatural horses. Peter later sits down and stares just like everyone else and when Stiles asks what he's doing, he says "I'm waiting for my train" in a matter of fact tone. Stiles asks him how he escaped from Eichen House which triggers a memory in Peter - which was probably buried in the single mindedness of "waiting" for the train.

While Peter is having his flashbacks, we see that he escaped from Eichen House when the lights went out and the doors open - he escaped the day Team Scott tried to break Lydia out of Eichen. He left the asylum only to be taken by Riders who seemed not at all perturbed by his growl, fangs  and blue eyes. Stiles tells him he was taken by the Ghost Riders and he seems familiar with the myth. With recognition also came the despair that they were never getting out of the train station/ storm. Stiles says it's a "train station and people get out of train stations". But Peter reminds him that Beacon Hills has no train station.

The two try to escape by breaking door locks and running through them but Stiles goes through a door only to come out of a different door in the same corridor. The two find that there is one person in the train station who seems neither "comatose or catatonic" but very interested in watching them. (This guy is the same one Lydia saw in the Stilinski house (Season 6 x 03) who told her the answer was right in front of her - a clue she took quite literally by peeling the wallpaper). Stiles approaches him and it turns out this nameless guy has also been trying to escape. He thinks the only way out is also the way in - a very dark tunnel through which the Riders bring in their victims.

After overcoming their irrational fear of the tunnel, the three go in and the nameless guy's plan is to jump on the back of one of the Riders while they are leaving and pass the magical barrier with them. Against Stile's advise, nameless guy jumps on the backs of one of the Riders but when he reaches the barrier, he simply falls off and is engulfed in green flames and burns to death - leaving no trace of him behind. Stiles is distraught and feels like Peter knew he was going to die and let him go ahead with his plan anyway. The two get into a little quarrel; Peter grabs Stiles' wallet and empties the content. He also tosses his car keys across and angrily walks away.

Meanwhile, at BHH, Lydia can barely concentrate in class because her attention has been drawn by someone trying to tow Roscoe. She excuses herself from the class (followed by Scott) to speak with the towmeister. The latter insists that he has to tow the car because it has been reported abandoned. He agrees to leave the car - for a bribe of $150. Scott believes that price is outrageous - a reminder that the McCalls are still broke. Lydia ends up paying the fee with part of her money and all the money Scott had - which was $50.

At the not-so-train-station, Stiles and Peter have found the communication room and Stiles believes that by tweaking it, he can somehow communicate with his friends. While he's pressing buttons, Malia, Lydia and Scott can hear a scrambled sound - which they find out is coming from Roscoe. They enter the jeep and the sound suddenly stops (because the Riders almost caught Stiles and Peter in the room).

Scott tells Lydia and Malia that he's picking up all their scents in the car which means they must have been in it even though they don't remember it. Malia has moved on from the whole Stiles event so she wants nothing of that. Lydia finds papers in the car with the Stilinski home address on it. She visits the house and Claudia says she had that jeep years ago but it got stolen and she had no interest in retrieving it because it was a dump. Lydia is more concerned about how the car arrived in the BHH parking lot and what happened to it over the years but Claudia is evasive and asks her to speak to her mother. Lydia excuses herself to the bathroom and there comes across the peeled wallpaper. At this point, she mentally realizes how far she has gone to remember Stiles and starts to sob. More importantly, on the other side of the wall is Stiles who also seems distraught. Does this mean that the way to the not-so-train-station is in the Stilinski house?

At the not-so-train-station, the Riders dropped Gwen who is reunited with her sister. Peter glances at the split-flap display - destination board - at the train station and saw Beacon Hills as well as other places which somehow triggered his resolve to escape. He tells Stiles that he will ride the back of the Riders like their fallen comrade tried but he will survive because he's supernatural. Stiles wants him to tell his friends of him if he makes it out but Peter says if he makes it out , he's "getting the hell out of Beacon Hills" - like any sane person would after all the horrors that have gone down in that town. Stiles also discovered that Peter was escaping for Malia - a rather confusing discovery seeing as he never really seemed to care for the young were-coyote. Just before he leaves, he finds Stiles key and jumps on the back of the Riders.
The good news is, he made it out. The not-so-good news is, Stiles had to watch from the floor as a Rider had spotted him and dragged him with his whip in a not-so-gentle manner.

The very bad news is; Peter is burning again - but at least he made it out. He howls in pain (or anger) and Scott and Malia come running. They initially do not recognize him but their memory comes back to them and they help take away some of his pain while he gives them Stiles' key. It looks like this is one fire Peter won't be coming back from.

Scott and Lydia are back in the car and trying to start the jeep with the key handed over by Peter. Scott tells Lydia not to "flood" it and when Lydia heeds, the car starts. While they are in the car, Stiles is back at the communication room and trying to reach out to someone - anyone. Scott and Lydia are able to hear him and the relief in Stiles'voice is heart wrenching. He wants to know if Lydia remembers the last thing he said to her and she does - "you said remember I love you". The two want to know where Stiles is so they can come get him but Stiles says they wont find him but they should remember the name "Canaan" - which he also saw on the Split-flap and just like Peter strengthened his resolve to do something. After saying that, the connection goes dead and the two are left with their great sense of loss.

But at least they remember.

Interesting Facts

It looked like with the absence of Stiles, Malia and Scott are now a thing. In the car when they were arguing on whether or not to pursue the Stiles thing, she looked to Scott and said "whose side are you on?"Just the way girlfriends do when they feel unsupported. It's very convenient of the show to answer the question of "what happens to Malia now that Stalia is to be a thing" by pushing two single teenagers together. Convenient but I'll take it.

The old lady from the station who told Stiles she was going to visit her grandchildren (and who was also eyeing Peter like a piece of meat) is the same old woman from Sundowning who Lydia saw in the Stilinski house.

Claudia Stilinksi is hiding something. It's hard to say what exactly but she seems to be doing nothing other than dissuading Lydia from her goal of finding Stiles.

What on earth is Canaan? And why is it so important?

Anyone else relived that Team Liam was nowhere to be found in this episode? Liam is great but his pack is... a little too much. Its nice to have the feel of what Teen Wolf was like pre-Liam and before the show got obsessed with supernatural beings.
