I'm a little late to the party but I thought I'd do a quick review anyway.

Honestly, when I first heard the name "Into the Badlands", I was't expecting much but someone convinced me to watch it and so I did.

My first reaction to the show was something short of disgust - so many dead bodies! But somehow, by the end of the episode, I was searching for episode 2 somewhat frantically. Needless to say, I'm hooked now.

Here's my two cents on the characters

Quinn

Patti Perett/AMC

Quinn somehow reminds me of Klaus Mikaelson in the The Originals. Very much feared and you can't decide if you hate him or love him. Asides that, this Baron doesn't seem to share the same love for his family as Klaus does. If anything, Quinn seems rather unhinged.

Our big bad unhinged wolf was sick and thought the best way to keep a secret was to kill everyone else who knew. Quinn made a lot of bad choices;, getting engaged to Jade was one. Who sleeps with his son's girl? Getting rid of his wife was another stupid, stupid move, his clash with sunny, killing Veil's parent. The list goes on but you can't expect anything less from a show that starts off with dead bodies.

Ryder

He is that spoiled child you can totally relate with. Living up to Quinns expectations will be tough on any child. On top of that, he seemed to have inherited his father's knack for making terrible decisions.

Veil

She is the typical girl in almost every TV show out there. Good girl who meets a "bad guy" and somehow thinks she can change him with golden sex and the purest of hearts. Well, she turned out being Sunny's downfall (we can argue that anytime)

Sunny

The badass who was ruined by love. What else is there to say?

The Widow

Patti Parett/AMC

Two words for this amazing independent ass-kicking woman - "LOVE HER". There's the issue of the women empowerment purpose she's so keen on - although she seems to be taking a different spin to it. The girls she has taken under her wing are obviously killing machines but I guess that is better than leaving them to the whims of the clippers & colts, at least they get a fighting chance.

Tilda and MK

Just like every other confused teenager in a show who think they are special simply because they found love.

The curious case of Azra

There's one thing that has me curious - M.K. Who exactly is he? a child with powers, mutant, a special being? Who is he, where does he comes from? who are his people? I can't be the only one curious about Azra. And then, there's the widow and her mysterious book which M.K. stole. She seems to know a thing or two about Azra. What a thrill it'd be if she was from that mystery place too.

What was your first impression of the show? What do you think of it now?
