Is this truly the end of Teen Wolf? I kept on hoping for an episode - or two - to make it all better.

I was ecstatic when the second part of season 6 was getting close to its release date. I had so many expectations - which set me up rather nicely for the disappointment I felt after almost every episode. We all know Teen Wolf likes to save the best fight for the last couple of episodes but the series finale may very well have the worst fight scene in Teen Wolf history. Whatever happened to going out with a "big bang" and keeping the viewers talking long after it ends. In a way, I guess we are still talking - about how terribly rushed it felt.

The last half of Season 6 of Teen Wolf was a mixture of yay and nay. Before I get to the nays, I have to say, I'm going to miss this show. Now to the nays:

Stydia

Us Stydia fans were super grateful that Stiles survived the Wild Hunt and got together with Lydia and in 6B, I really wanted to see how their relationship will play out. But all we get was brief hand-holding and namedropping here and there. I mean, this is Stiles - he has been in love with Lydia for years and he tends to be a little obsessive so the Stydia dynamic felt less like a plot development and more of a happy ending tailored for fans.

The new characters nobody cares about

There were so many new characters in 6B - the episodes were simply crawling with them! To make matters worse, some of these new characters were central to the episodes. Characters like Nolan - what exactly was his role in the series? He somehow becomes Liam's lacrosse rival, which is totally unbelievable as Liam (pre-werewolf) was a lot better than Scott who was an Alpha, so much so that Scott and Stiles thought he was a werewolf. But suddenly, Liam is having his ass handed to him by   someone we had never heard of until that very second? Let's blame it on Liam's broken heart.

The Teen Wolf Counsellor Trope

What is with BH Guidance Counselors turning out to be shady people? It makes me worried about counseling.

Asides from that, we're supposed to believe Newbie Counsellor, Monroe killed a Hellhound - that was supposedly more than 100 years old - with just one shot?  I expected her to get lucky and maybe injure him enough for him to be down for a few hours, but get a clean headshot? I did not see that coming.

How does a supposedly amateur hunter become so good in seconds? Even Allison had training and practice.

Gerard and Monroe were given way too much credit.

How do you hand out a gun to almost everyone living in a town with zero consequences? How do you unseat a Sheriff and take over his station? Maybe it would have been a bit difficult for Agent McCall to convince the FBI to give him back up because the people of Beacon Hills are trying to take back their city from supernaturals but someone (maybe the state) has to care that a civilian is handing out guns to everyone!

For me, there was nothing badass about our Guidance counselor/hunter. There should have been at least one fight scene for her to make all these captures believable. One show of power for us to nod and clap and say "yup she's worth it" but there was no effort on her part; just shooting like it was a newly discovered hobby. It was painful to watch.

These two werewolves really didn't see the bullet coming towards them? How... werewolf-y

Same old weak Scott

After Mama McCall was shot, I was hoping for some sweet payback fight with Scott being pissed and all but instead, our dear alpha went for fighting lessons. He didn't look to be bothered by the fact that his mother almost died. I was also hoping that before the show ends, we'll get to see Scott do something alpha-ish - maybe be half of what Deucalion was - but no such luck.

Derek could have been a lot stronger

Derek's power was played down a lot. Sure, he was jumping about and doing air kicks but it felt like the writers forgot he could turn into a wolf. I kept on expecting him to transform and looking forward to a good fight.

What on Earth did Kate Argent return for? To kill her father? Easy. Someone else could have done it.

Did Deucalion have to die? There was no need for it and no emotional investment whatsoever.

On the plus side, seeing Papa Stilinski be (somewhat) badass was welcome. Also, I liked Scalia, mostly because I love love. I'd really like for Tyler Posey not to kiss like he were in pain.

Summary: It was a rather disappointing end to a show I've loved for so long but there's a reboot coming up (with new cast) so I'm keeping my hopes up.
